Chad joined Walmart in 1995 as an Independent Optometrist at store 0776 in Fremont, NE. The following year, Chad was named Wal-Mart’s Optometrist of the Year for his patient care and vision of building his optometric practice. After four years of practicing in Nebraska, Chad transferred his business to store 1007 in Richland Center, WI where he was able to build another successful practice from the ground level. After another seven years as a practicing OD, Chad joined the corporate team as a Regional Talent Specialist in March of 2007. He was promoted to Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition in 2009. In his role as Senior Manager Chad served as a corporate liaison to operations, colleges, optometrists, and trade associations where he worked to recruit top talent, train leaders and build meaningful relationships for the business.
Chad is responsible for providing overall direction and enhancement of Health and Wellness professional relations and strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders to achieve business goals and inspiring commitment to the Health and Wellness mission through internal and external communication and professional relationships. As a Optometrist, Chad will also provide subject matter expert on optometry and vision center matters. With nearly sixteen years of combined experience in Walmart Health and Wellness businesses, he has the necessary skills to excel as the Director of Professional Relations.
Chad Overman attended Iowa State University and received a his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 1995.
