Fabry's Disease CME Monograph Available Online
You are in a unique position to identify Fabry's disease, a progressive, under-recognized genetic disorder that can lead to life-threatening renal, cardiac, and cerebrovascular complications, both for patients as well as numerous family members. Up to 90% of patients with Fabry's disease exhibit corneal verticillata, whorl-like radial lines emanating from a single vortex, which are detectable by slit lamp examination and typically do not affect vision. This CME monograph is aimed at educating optometrists to better recognize these, and other clinical findings of Fabry's disease, in order to identify at-risk patients and initiate early treatment.
